In an absolutely disgraceful pronouncement, the Vatican has asked Catholics to not donate money to Amnesty International. Despite the obvious good Amnesty does, the Vatican also believes the organization to be promoting abortion. Amnesty stated position is that they support a woman’s right to abortion where her health is in danger. Basically, some male virgins wearing dresses got together and decided that their imaginary friend wouldn’t want members of their club to give money to Amnesty International.

This is wrong, on so many different levels:
A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting.
The idea that a chemical inhaled or ingested could turn people gay is simply backward. The attitude that heterosexuality is all that keeps American soldiers from humping each other in the trenches is insane, and an insult to generations of American soldiers who defended their country with dignity.

The greatest threat facing the American people today is their inability to recognise their true enemies. A case in point is Dennis Milligan, chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party:
At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.
Ideally, this fart blowing in the wind should be dragged into the street and shot in front of an approving public, but second best would be a damning defeat to the Republican Party in the 2008 Presidential elections. Sadly, the only viable alternative to the GOP is the Democratic Party, who don’t score much better in the humanity stakes.
